Miscellaneous expenses

There are several expenses that you can include when itemizing your deductions. Some don’t fit into any of the other groups of itemized deductions, so they fall under the umbrella of miscellaneous expenses.

While some of these deductions have no minimum requirement, others are deductible only to the extent that they exceed 2 percent of your adjusted gross income (AGI). For example, if your AGI is $100,000 and you have $2,500 in unreimbursed employee expenses, you can only deduct $500.
