#Good news! The IRS has extended the tax deadline to April 18th! As long as you submit your federal return by midnight on 4/18/2018, you won't be considered a late filer for your federal return. Direct debit tax payments that are submitted with your federal return (or on the IRS website) by 4/18 are also considered timely filed ×

How do I know what portion of vehicle expenses can be deducted here?

You can deduct as a charitable contribution any unreimbursed out-of-pocket expenses, such as the cost of gas and oil, directly related to the use of your car in giving services to a charitable organization.

You can also deduct parking and toll fees you paid related to charity work. You can't deduct general repair and maintenance expenses, depreciation, registration fees or the costs of tires or insurance.
