#Good news! The IRS has extended the tax deadline to April 18th! As long as you submit your federal return by midnight on 4/18/2018, you won't be considered a late filer for your federal return. Direct debit tax payments that are submitted with your federal return (or on the IRS website) by 4/18 are also considered timely filed ×

I donated to a charity but don’t have a receipt. Can I still claim a charitable deduction??

If you don’t have a receipt or other form of documentation for the donation you made, you can’t deduct it as a charitable contribution.

The IRS says documentation can be a bank record or a written communication from the qualified charity that includes the organization’s name, the amount you contributed and the date of your contribution.
